The Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter ASTD was founded in 1974. The original purpose was to provide a three-county network for professionals in the fields of training and development to further their skills.
The Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter was one of 51 chapters recognized at the 1994 ASTD International Conference for having successfully met the criteria established for the Chapter Assessment and Recognition Tool (CHART). In August 2003, the chapter was named National Chapter of the Month.
CHART was replaced by CORE. Chapter Operating Requirements (CORE) are a set of performance guidelines designed to help chapters deliver consistent benefits to members. CORE consists of elements in five key areas: administration, financial, membership, professional development, and communication, which are necessary for running a chapter like a business. The Fort Worth Mid-Cities Chapter typically scores 100% on CORE each year.
