Joseph Haynes is a seasoned professional with 25 plus years of combined operations, sales, marketing, customer service, and public relations experience at both small business and corporate levels. During Joseph's 16 years as a professional trainer he has designed and presented programs for small to large groups, and a variety of organizations from non-profits to major corporations. He has met the competencies established by the International Board of Standards for Training, Performance and Instruction (IBSTPI) holding three certified training designations in Instruction, Instructional Design and Training Management. As the Principal Consultant of Haynes, Benford and Associates a business consulting, training and development firm, Joseph provides financial, management, marketing, operational and training planning services. Since joining ASTD Ft . Worth in 2007 Joseph has served as VP Hospitality and is currently the 2011 President Elect. He also holds positions on several other professional and community organization boards. Joseph’s passions are youth development and bowling which he combines being a certified Bronze Level Coach and high school bowling team coach as well as a 4-H Project Leader. | | John Wright - Past President john@astdfortworth.org
John Wright is president of Simple Leadership Strategies. John and his partners specialize in designing and delivering transformational learning workshops that help people integrate simple leadership strategies into management processes. They help organizations create leaders at every level. John is a member of the Institute of Management Consultants, the Northeast Tarrant Chamber of Commerce, and the Word Affairs Council of Dallas/Fort Worth. John joined ASTD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities in 2005 and served as VP/Programs in 06 and 07, President-Elect in 2008 and President in 2009.

Larry’s career has included working in the fields of education (primarily college level), corporate training and government. A primary emphasis throughout the career has been use of technology as an educational / instructional tool. Specific endeavors include instructional television production, curriculum design and development, program coordination and administration. Larry has earned bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees and has recently completed post-doctoral graduate work. Degree majors include biology, speech, instructional technology, administration, and human resources. Larry is currently an adjunct professor at Concordia University and periodically teaches in the Trainer Certificate Program at Tarrant County College. He originally joined the Fort Worth Mid-Cities Chapter in 1991 and served as newsletter editor and VP-Communications, but left due to a job change situation. He returned to the chapter in 2002 and has since served as VP-Programs, VP-Finance, President-Elect, President, Past -President and currently is serving as Chapter Manager. He has held similar positions in other professional associations. A primary hobby is genealogy / family history research. He also enjoys outdoor physical activities such as walking, hiking, biking and roller-blading.

During the past 15 years, Melissa has had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles throughout her career in learning. She currently works as the Director of the Language Acquisition Center in the Department of Modern Languages at the University of Texas at Arlington. Previously, she served as an Instructional Designer in higher education and as a French Instructor at both k-12 and university levels. Melissa has been an active member of the ASTD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter since 2008. She has participated in the Instructional Design PDN and attends chapter meetings regularly. In her spare time, she enjoys mystery novels, crossword puzzles, Texas Rangers baseball, and classical music.

Kevin has led in a number of roles during his 23 year career at Hewlett-Packard. In his Program Manager role, he led a global team to deliver an e-Learning solution for use by HP customers. Previously, he held positions in project management, information development, product support planning, course delivery, instructional design, and field service all within the technology industry. Kevin has been an active member of the ASTD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter since 2009 and is the VP Marketing Elect for 2010. In his spare time he flies stunt kites, practices martial arts, and studies social media with application toward adult learning and development.

During the past 9 years, Kyle Anne was a Corporate Trainer with RadioShack and works now as a contract trainer for a variety of companies. Prior to her role as a Workplace Learning Professional, she served in IT functions such as Network Administration and Desktop support, IT Asset Management and IT Project Management. In her free time she loves to garden and travel. Prior to joining the Training & IT world, Kyle had a theater background with ten years spent in New York City studying voice, dance and acting, which afforded her many opportunities to wait tables, tend bar and temp in numerous NYC offices.

Mariya is completing her Master’s degree in Applied Technology, Performance Improvement at the University of North Texas. She is continuing with a doctorate degree in Training and Development. Mariya has had the opportunity to intern at the HR departments of various companies such as Leggett & Platt, Inc. (manufacturing) and Downstream Casino & Resort (gambling and hospitality). She holds Bachelor’s degrees in Marketing, Management, and Spanish and has passed the PHR certification. Mariya joined the ASTD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter in February 2008 and was elected the VP of Records later that year. During the pas 12 years, Rick has had the opportunity to lead in a variety of roles throughout his career. He currently works as an Instructional Designer for The Beryl Companies. Prior to this role, he has served as Training Manger in the financial services, food service and consumer services industries. Rick has also been an active member of the ASTD Fort Worth/Mid-Cities Chapter since 2007. During that time, he has participated as a member of the Marketing Committee and as Webmaster. In his spare time, Rick likes to experiment with different technologies.
